There have been plenty of cowboys herding cattle around the United States after the deadly American Civil War and these cowboys eventually realized that they needed some boots that were somewhat different from the common boot styles of their current generation. All those other boots whether be it war, carriage or field-style boots did not really serve them well during their time as riders on horseback that were navigating bushes and brambles, creeks and river months at a time. Around the year of 1870 a lone cowboy had the idea of taking his war boots to a shoemaker and had asked the shoemaker to add some great changes to the boots that he had such as a pointy toe so that he would be able to slip his foot into a stirrup quicker than before. The lone cowboy also said that he wanted a taller shaft to be made on the boots so that his legs would be protected from any harm during his adventures in the world as well as adding in a larger, under-sling heal on the bottom of the boot so that he would be able to keep his leg in a stirrup while being hard on horseback and while being on the trail. The shoemaker made something with the ideas that he was given with and he came up with a great design of a knee-high design in which was smart because it would be able to protect the wearer from anything dangerous outside such as dangerous animals and other vegetation that can prove harmful to the user.
The very first pairs of cowboy boots were entirely for working purposes only. Cowboy boots were never intended for the word “Style” and it was just for working purposes only. Cowboy boots was just nothing more as an improvement over something so vital for cowboys and it was just designed so that it could be able to protect the cowboys over something harmful as well as offering the cowboys comfort on their feet during the long hard journey that they are taking whether be it rain or shine.
After a long while cowboy boots were viewed more as a fashion statement than the old worker point of view that most people had and now the customary black or brown stitches that were made on the old cowboy boots are being replaced by something more colorful stitching. Designs are constantly being thought of on the cowboy boots and more design makers are unleashing their full power of their creative minds on creating something beautiful with the new fashion trend of cowboy boots. Decades of design made the cowboy boots fashionable and it attracted the attention of the international community as it became a fashion trend among the people.
